DEWORMING SCHEDULE
(Most Farms in Clark County)

We are changing our recommendations regarding deworming.

In the past, we recommended horses over 1 year of age be dewormed every eight weeks. However, we now recommend fecal examinations be performed and more strategic deworming plans be developed for the individual horse. Ask us about this!

Dosage of deworming products should be based on weight which can be determined by weight tape measurement.

Below is the schedule we have recommended in the past, and may still be recommended for high risk horses and farms:

  • Jan or Feb-Ivermectin
  • March/April-Fenbendazole (panacur)
  • May/June-Ivermectin + Praziquantel (Equimax or Zimectrin Gold)
  • July/August-Ivermectin
  • Sept/Oct-Fenbendazole (Panacur or Panacur Powerpak)
  • Nov/Dec-Ivermectin + Praziquantel (Equimax or Zimectrin Gold)
