Meg R. Brinton DVM
Meg Brinton is a 1987 graduate of Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a board member of both the Oregon Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association and the Friends of Vancouver Mounted Patrol.

She started her own practice in 1989 in Clark County, Washington. Her focus includes sports medicine (racehorses, dressage, jumpers, barrel horses). Reproduction is also a special interest – the clinic has been expanded to accommodate semen collection, artificial insemination, etc.

Dr. Brinton is an avid dressage rider, and enjoys trail riding and travel. She also breeds and races Thoroughbred horses with her husband, trainer Nick Lowe. Meg and Nick share their home in Ridgefield with their lovely dog Marta, a Cairn Terrier.


   


Susie Desisto ~ Veterinary Technician
Susie Desisto has been a licensed small animal technician since 1986. She worked with Cindy at Salmon Creek Veterinary Clinic, then was employed at Burns Veterinary Supply. Susie has recently moved to the equine side of veterinary medicine, but is not new to the horse world.

Susie and her husband Tyler currently own 10 horses of varying shapes and sizes. They also share their home with their daughter Amber, 3 dogs, 2 cats, several chickens, fish and one turtle.

Wendy Sawyer ~ Office Manager
Wendy Sawyer has been a horse owner for 30+ years with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Horse Training and Management from Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado. She is the owner of WJD Stables, a public boarding facility and has been employed at Ridgefield Equine Clinic since 2000.

Wendy married her husband Barry in 1987. Barry is a logger, working for White and Zumstein Logging of Woodland, Washington. They have 2 children. Kenny is a freshman majoring in computer engineering at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. Estella attends a lot of local games shows and is an avid barrel racer! She belongs to the National Barrel Horse Association, and has competed in their Youth World Championships in Jackson, Mississippi.


Lori Kytola ~ Receptionist/Assistant

Lori has been employed by Ridgefield Equine Clinic since May of 2007. Lori and her husband Jeff have been married for 24 years and have three wonderful children, Emily, Sam and Mikayla. Both Jeff and Lori came from farming backgrounds, Lori's family owned a dairy in the northwest for 20 years and Jeff was also raised on his family's dairy in Brush Prairie. Lori met her husband Jeff at the Clark County Fair showing dairy cows, and now, every year they take their children to show both dairy cows and horses at the same place they met. Emily and Mikayla participate with Horse Masters 4-H club and all three children enjoy their dairy 4-H projects. Lori and Jeff now own Kytola Farms in Brush Prairie, raising dairy heifers. They currently have over 200 heifers and farm over 200 acres to provide hay and silage for their heifers.
 
Lori has had a life long working relationship and love of animals, not only growing up on a dairy, Lori bred, raised and showed St. Bernards for 15 years, and has always rode and had a deep love of horses. Lori and Jeff own three horses and ride every opportunity possible.

Cindy Wright ~ Veterinary Technician
Cindy Wright is a 1997 graduate of Portland Community College’s Veterinary Technician program. She was initially employed at Salmon Creek Veterinary Clinic, then was employed at Ridgefield Equine from 1996-2000, left the clinic to open her own coffee shop, and has recently returned part time.

Cindy and her husband Mike are the proud new parents of Garrett, a baby boy who was born on November 2nd. They enjoy trail riding, boating, and hiking, and their family also includes 5 horses, 5 dogs, 2 goats and several chickens in their animal family.
